Natura has agreed to sell Avon's operations in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Honduras, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic, known as Avon CARD, to Grupo PDC, a consumer goods company with a presence in Central America and Peru. Natura said it will receive 22 million dollars from the transaction. The business had already been classified as held for sale in Natura's second-quarter results.
Under the agreement, Natura will act as licensor of the Avon brand and supplier of finished products, which will continue to be sold in those countries. Chief Executive Joao Paulo Ferreira said the company was pleased to find a partner with extensive experience in Central America that will continue to drive Avon's prosperity in close partnership with Natura.
Closing, which depends on corporate procedures by the companies in the region, was expected in October. Natura said the sale is part of the corporate simplification strategy it launched in 2022 and does not affect its Latin American operations, where the integration of the Natura and Avon brands is progressing. The company continues to explore strategic alternatives, including a potential sale or spin-off, for Avon International.
