FreeLife International operated as a health-and-wellness direct-selling company best known for its goji-based nutritional products, including Himalayan Goji Juice and GoChi, along with weight-management and supplement products. The company built its business through an independent distributor model and had an international presence in markets such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and the Philippines.
FreeLife is no longer active as a standalone MLM company. In 2017, FreeLife and L'dara were combined under Sorvana International, and Youngevity International acquired Sorvana's assets effective July 1, 2017. Youngevity's SEC filing later described Sorvana as the result of the unification of FreeLife and L'dara and listed a maximum aggregate purchase price of $14 million for the Sorvana acquisition. FreeLife now exists as a legacy brand within Youngevity's broader direct-selling product platform rather than as an independent company.
Freelife's regulatory history includes a 2009 consumer class-action lawsuit involving FreeLife's goji products, including Himalayan Goji Juice, GoChi, and TaiSlim, over alleged false or misleading advertising. Public summaries of the case state that a settlement was reached on April 28, 2010, under which FreeLife agreed to take steps to ensure its goji products were not marketed as "unheated" or "raw" and made a contribution to an educational organization.
