Zoegetics is longer active as a direct sales company.
Zoegetics International, LLC was a Warner Robins, Georgia-based health and wellness network marketing company launched in 2008. The business grew from an idea developed by Benny Graham, who wanted a convenient powdered product providing nutritional components from fruits and vegetables. Graham served as CEO, while experienced network marketer Jay Vaughn became president and helped develop the direct-selling organization; Stephen Davison served as executive vice president. Federal trademark records list first use of the Zoegetics name in July 2008. The company operated from 1040 Booth Road, Suite 300, Warner Robins, Georgia.
The company's flagship product was Zoé Life, a powdered nutritional drink mix made from fruits and vegetables. Early descriptions stated that the formulation contained 13 fruits and vegetables and supplied vitamin A, vitamin C and soluble fiber. Zoegetics later described the product as part of a broader family-wellness strategy and planned a "Zoe Wellness Web" providing distributors and customers with information related to nutrition, homeopathic healthcare and home safety. The company also marketed Zoe Clean, a line of environmentally oriented household products that included glass and surface cleaner, kitchen degreaser, odor eliminator and tub and shower cleaner. Zoegetics emphasized recyclable and biodegradable packaging and stated that a percentage of company profits would be contributed to charitable organizations.
Zoegetics operated through independent distributors using what it called the Trinity Compensation Plan. The program incorporated a banking binary structure, Matching Personal Volume bonuses, commissions extending through as many as seven generations, and assistance and advancement bonuses. The business therefore combined personal product sales with compensation generated through a distributor's downline organization. Zoegetics also offered webinars, distributor training and national events as it attempted to expand beyond its initial Georgia market.
Financial and ownership problems eventually disrupted the company. A later Georgia Court of Appeals decision established that in 2009 Stephen Davison and another owner, Fricks, each held 25% of Zoegetics, with two other individuals splitting the remaining 50%. Zoegetics obtained approximately $300,000 in financing in June 2009, and the related renewal note later went into default. Separate litigation also developed between Zoegetics and former associates, including network-marketing trainer Doug Firebaugh. Zoegetics International and related plaintiffs sued Firebaugh and others in federal court in Michigan in 2010. The parties reached a settlement placed on the record on August 24, 2011, and the case was dismissed without prejudice. A March 2012 court order required dismissal of related Georgia litigation and provided for the company's remaining inventory to be divided between the two sides.
By this period, the company had begun using the Zoe Lifestyle name. In February 2011, management announced that the network marketing operation was being discontinued because, despite a substantial number of customers continuing to purchase products monthly, the company had not been able to generate a profit as an MLM. Renewals were stopped effective February 1, and management announced that autoship processing would cease 30 days after February 7, final commission checks would be issued and all distributor agreements would be terminated.
